My wife and I attended the Cortez Fishing Festival on Saturday. The event was mostly excellent with ample parking, shuttle services, great food and drinks, a wide variety of craft displays and special interest booths and great music.

I do, however, have a complaint about the washroom facilities. On the side where the music was being played and where most of the drinks were being consumed, there were only two portable toilets and no hand-wash station.

On the far side of the event property there was a cluster of about 10 toilets with a hand-wash station, but the supply of water ran out early afternoon making it inoperable.

I really hope the food handlers had an alternative place to wash their hands. Why not charge a few dollars more for the admission and make sure people can have access to some basic hygiene facilities?
