Manatee County failing to fix water drainage problem
I thought Manatee County's Utility Department was doing all they could to address all problems with drainage to help keep us free of the Zika virus and other health problems.
However, I'm unsure about this. I have lived in my home since 1985. All of this time I have complained about the drain that is on the corner of my property. It fills up and the water goes nowhere to drain.
Manatee Utilities will come and drain the water and then it fills up again. Approximately five months ago they drained the drain, put a long stick in the ground to see where it should drain, and dug a small hole and put up a barricade.
The barricade is still there and so is the problem with the drain. This has made my driveway lower. A barricade sits on my lawn, which maybe I could hang a sign from: Contaminated water for the Zika virus.
The drain is across from the Saint Stephens campus. Do they need Zika virus there?
