An armed society is a safe society; legalize open carry of guns in Florida
I've always believed in order to be a "good cop" you must believe in the Constitution and never obey "unjust laws" and "laws that are not constitutional."
As a cop you do not have to blindly follow a superior's order that goes against "people's rights under the Constitution." The cowardly way out is to say, "I was just following orders."
Now, open carry of firearms in the state of Florida is a good thing to happen. It is not only our God-given right, it is our right under the Second Amendment in the Constitution of the United States of America.
You see, the Second Amendment is what protects the First Amendment.
Open carry works in many other states and in those states the bad guys don't like it. What the bad guys like is the so-called "gun free" zones of which in the State of Florida, for instance, in movie theaters with a sign next to the cashier saying "no firearms allowed." That is not law and people with concealed weapon permits can legally carry a weapon into the theater. If everyone with the proper licensing is allowed to carry a gun openly, you will not see any more movie theater mass shootings.
So, I urge the state Senate to pass the open carry bill and save lives.
I support our law enforcement and would lay down my life to protect a cop in trouble, and I expect them to observe and obey the oath they took. Citizens with a gun, get trained by someone with the proper credentials such as an NRA pistol certified trainer like myself. I train people every two weeks in the area of close quarters combat with a firearm along with the four rules of gun safety. An armed society is a safe society.
