Age cure can be found with eternal life in heaven, not science
In response to "Gerontologist predicts age will one day be cured" (Herald, Jan. 27).
I submit that Mr. Aubry de Grey would do well to research the living God's Holy Word in this endeavor since He is the one who created the human body.
Black said, "Throughout history the human life span has never exceeded about 120."
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female. "God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it." (Genesis 1: 27-28 NIV).
The first man was named Adam and he lived 930 years. According to the biblical record, Methuselah is the oldest human ever, dying at age 969. (Genesis 5:27)
Aubry de Grey makes it clear he hates being labeled the man who believes people will one day live forever.
Mr. de Grey should know that the day has already come when one can live forever.
Jesus said: "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, he has crossed over from death to life." (John 5:24 NIV)
We who have Jesus have eternal life now. If our body is destroyed, we have a heavenly dwelling where we will then go. To be away from the body is to be at home with our Lord. (2 Corinthians 5: 1-10 NIV)
