This is a shout out for three restaurants new in Bradenton.

On Main Street, right downtown where the farmers market takes place every Saturday just off Manatee Avenue, is the welcomed and lauded Izakaya Nazuka, Modern Japanese Kitchen. How fortunate that something very different opened on Main Street instead of another burger, breakfast, sub or pizza joint.

The addition of Japanese cuisine is a wonderful treat and brings a little diversity to the culinary landscape of downtown. And how fortunate that it's also very affordable.

The food is exceptionally good and beautifully served. I would hate to see this jewel go away. Anyone who likes sushi or Japanese food should give it a whirl sooner rather than later.

A mile away in Village of the Arts, the rustic Bird Rock Taco Shack is serving authentic tacos with California flair featuring tuna, chicken, and pork on the night we were there.

They were also dishing up a dreamy blue crab ceviche, too. They're just starting up, but this place is destined to a bright spot in no time.

From Birdrock, stroll to the end of the street to find Arte Caffe. It's authentic Italian at its very best -- with artisan breads, meats, cheeses, pastas and select Italian sweets.

The prices for both Birdrock and Arte Caffe are astoundingly affordable. A night on the town won't break the bank, the food is great, and local chefs have never worked harder to bring good things to downtown.

Bon appetite!
