God-fearing voters must elect God-fearing leaders
Do you ever wonder why our nation is in such turmoil?
I submit that we as a nation have turned our backs on the living sovereign God and the godly heritage He gave America through the 55 Founding Fathers, who were members of Orthodox Christian Churches and many were outspoken evangelicals.
When George Washington was inaugurated as America's first president, his inaugural address included these words: "The favorable smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rule of order and right which heaven itself has ordained."
In Deuteronomy 4: 39-40 (NiV), it says, "Acknowledge and take heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. Keep His decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time."
God's principles of right and wrong cannot be ignored individually or nationally. While individuals answer to God in the future, nations do not. Because nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be in this. Therefore, providence punishes national sins by national calamities. Our Founders believed that God would deal with a nation in the present for the stands it takes and the policies it enacts.
If God-fearing citizens are not involved at the ballot box, God-fearing leaders will not be elected, God-honoring policies will not be enacted, and our nation will not be blessed by God.
Therefore, this national election, God's children must be involved and vote for God-fearing candidates if we want to be in His will and pleasing in His sight.
