No waste of tax money on new Florida state Senate redistricting court case

Let's all ask our state legislators not to follow Sen. Bill Galvano's suggestion to appeal Judge George Reynolds' Circuit Court decision to approve the redistricting plan submitted by a coalition of voting rights groups. According to the Dec. 30 Bradenton Herald, we've spent over $8 million so far, and Galvano says he wants to appeal.

We told our legislators, through a constitutional amendment, not to gerrymander, but they did and they got caught.

When the state Supreme Court told them to fix their redistricting map, they gerrymandered again and they were told to fix it again.

Finally, when the legislators proved unable to make a non-gerrymandered map, the Circuit Court appointed to monitor their shenanigans found a redistricting plan it could approve, the one submitted by voting rights groups, not legislators.

Please call or write your legislators to let them know that this foolishness has gone on long enough, that we don't need to spend any more tax dollars on this issue, that there are plenty of other issues that could use their attention ... and our tax dollars.
