About Syrian refugees, what would Jesus do?
My father taught me that it doesn't matter what religion you are, as long you are a good person. My father taught me that no matter how downtrodden you may be, you can always find someone else worse off than you, and you need to put yourself in their shoes.
He believed, "There but for the grace of God go I."
This brings me to the plight of the unfortunate souls who find themselves trapped in the war-torn areas of world, especially Syria. Though they are not sinners, they find themselves in a hell hole of oppression where their leader poisons and bombs his own people while ISIS decapitates them. They are literally running from the devil, risking life and limb to give their children a chance for survival and hope for a better life.
I appeal to all of you good Christians, born again and Evangelical, and you who admire and honor your Savior Jesus, who professed that "Whatever you do to the least of my people, that's what you do to me."
I implore all of you, who take within you the body and blood of Christ, to hear him telling us to love one another as he has loved us. So pious and devout was he that he made the ultimate sacred sacrifice. He laid down his life to absolve all people from sin.
And I must ask those of you who espouse and hold dear the doctrine of the "right to life": Is a forming life more valuable than a living life? Should we not do right for these poor souls fleeing from oppression? Or should we choose to be the sinners who allow more innocent children to wash up on faraway shores?
