Ben Carson factually wrong on criticisms of Obama
I recently heard that GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson was trying to claim President Obama's records were "sealed," leaving citizens without the truth of his background. That claim was debunked years ago.
I found the article I remembered written by Brooks Jackson that told the truth and I quote from it now.
First, he was born in Hawaii in 1961, and "is a natural born citizen of the USA." Second, he was baptized in 1988 by Jeremiah Wright's Trinity United Methodist Church in Chicago, where he and his wife were married and where their two daughters were baptized.
College records are never "sealed by the institution" so that was a foolish claim. He did register for the draft on Sept. 4, 1980. Nobody's been drafted since 1972.
His medical records were released and his doctor said he was "in perfect health." His voting records can be found online. To claim his birth certificate was "sealed" just isn't true; they never are. As to his wife's ability to work again as an attorney, she can practice any time she wants.
I am sure that there are some things none of our presidents released to the public, but that doesn't mean they were "sealed." That takes a court order.
Thank you for printing the truth.
