Democratic socialism never works as a national policy

How easily those who tout democratic socialism in Europe think we should follow suit.

The U.S. has been the protector of freedom in the world for over 100 years with very little help from the socialists. The pilgrims tried democratic socialism and nearly starved until they realized it doesn't work.

Anyone who thinks I will operate my business so the democratic socialists can "fairly distribute" the wealth I created is delusional. I'll do the same thing the early pilgrims did; I'll let the other guy do the work.

This great country was created by those who were willing to take chances, grab their boot straps, and pull themselves up, not those sitting on their laurels and waiting for a handout.

I have yet to see anyone who got something for nothing, respect the "gift," be it education or health care. No skin in the game; no loss if you fail.

It's our government that came up with the "too big to fail" theory and that is strictly horse manure. Let GM, Chrysler and the big banks fail; someone will step in and take their place. I remember a pretty smart Democrat who said "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your county."

When there is a crisis around the world, the USA is always there with little or no help from anyone else. Our partners in NATO don't compare in the funding or physical participation as the USA. The only countries with our pre-Obama military strength are our communist adversaries.e have been "buying friends" around the world with "foreign aid" as long as I can remember. The sad part of that is we give that aid to China, Russia, Japan, etc. then borrow money from them to enable our government to provide the aid and security for them.
