End political nonsense; term limits for all elected officials
Politics today reminds me of an old song whose lyrics go, "Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am stuck in the middle with you."
It is mind-numbingly sad that a few of today's politicians are lying. You can pick a red or blue politician, but it makes no difference.
The political gang in Washington is there to breathe rarefied air and feather their nest for life! The scoundrels are apparently not there to represent the best interests of the citizens who elected them, although they give us lip service to that silly notion. Elected officials' actions speak volumes about their utter and total disdain of the citizenry until close to election time.
For that reason the entire USA should have term limits of one five-year term for all elected offices. No consecutive terms. All elected officials would serve their term and wait for five years to run again. If elected then, they could serve another five-year term. This eliminates a lot of the old boy/girl club that we have now where many politicians have seniority of a sort, due to being reelected and serving continuously.
Some might say that we can't get good people to run if this method was put into place, which is just a whole lot of what a person finds on the ground in a horse pasture. We have many great newly elected officials, prime rib individuals you might say. But when they hit DC's meat grinders, such as Pelosi, Reed, McConnell and, of course, Boehner, it's all over!
The elected newcomers drive to get things done is turned into mince meat. This needs to be changed for America to survive and thrive.
Plus, seniors need their cost-of-living adjustment!
