Food, not drug money, serves the homeless best

I am seeing more and more homeless people around town. It does not seem very compassionate to ignore them, but I am reluctant to offer them money. For all I know their requests will be used to buy the drugs that made them homeless in the first place.

So, I've decided to offer them food such as crackers, nutritional drinks or something similar.
