GOP leaders instituted SS cost-of-living formula

John Williamson's recent letter blamed the Democrats for the lack of a Social Security check increase for 2016. He might want to check his facts because the original automatic increases were legislated and initiated in 1972 and 1975 when Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford were our presidents. I recall that they were both Republicans.
