City of Bradenton's park relocation will doom future land donations

It is appalling that the City of Bradenton plans to relocate Glazier Gates Park. In doing so, they will eliminate any future land donations for public use as it is clear that in time the city will look for loopholes to use the land as they wish.

It is sad to me that the City of Bradenton is geographically located on a beautiful riverfront and almost all public land has been sold to private developers. The Riverwalk, while a great thing, has been too little, too late with very little parking and a narrow strip of land made available to the public.

Hopefully, the Glazier family and the residents in the park area will prevail in their fight to keep the park where it is and thereby honor and respect the wishes of Ezekiel Glazier and Josiah Gates.
