In his Oct. 10 letter to the editor, Don Quattlebaum argues that more gun control and registration of all firearms will not diminish our Second Amendment right to have and bear arms. But history tells us that registration of firearms leads to their confiscation and the disarming of the people precedes every tyranny.

Some time ago, it was reported that a woman heard a noise downstairs and she got her gun and went to investigate. It was a home invader.

She later stated that it was interesting to see how that snarling thug quickly became a whimpering boy when he had to look down the barrel of her gun. She saved her life and the thug went to prison.
