Walgreens steps up to plate in support of medical care for Manatee County's very needy

In a true show of support to the neediest of the needy in our community ,Walgreens has stepped up to the plate in providing up to $70,000 of services, including thousands of vaccines that will be administered by Walgreens pharmacists in the upcoming Remote Area Medical event Nov. 21-22 at Manatee Technical College.

The management staff of Walgreens has been providing support at our local Remote Area Medical meetings and brings to the table knowledge and expertise that only a provider like Walgreens could do. This is the type of collaboration between a private corporation and the largest nonprofit provider of free health care in the U.S. that pulls a community together to support the ones in need in our community.

Thank you Walgreens for showing our community what good corporate sponsorship is.

Remote Area Medical funding for the most part comes from a grassroots effort of concerned citizens who donate small amounts of money. Truly this is a "shot in the arm" for our organization and for those in need.

Thank you Walgreens!

Glen Gibellina, Vice Chair, Remote Area Medical
