Protect the children from phony Halloween horrors

When I was young , Halloween meant trick-or-treating with kids dressed like cowboys or Indians and without adults joining them. All were trustworthy and it was safe.

It meant jack-o'-lanterns with candles in them. And too much candy!

It sure is not what we see today. What a contrast to all what the evil men have cooked up. Big scary things, horror movies, haunted houses aimed to show how bad evil spirits are and all of us under the spell of the devil and his spirits.

They have an impact on our children; they have fear and horrible dreams. What we experience now is that evil should be fun and we should pretend that it is safe.

All this is far from the truth, peace and love. Maybe all those who promote these things are getting everyone ready for hell and of course they want to include the children.

Here we scream at what some are doing to the unborn, selling their parts (although one political party doesn't). How about standing up to evil which is promoted on Oct. 31. We should all realize what it could do to children.

We need to teach children other things -- such as "do not kill."
