Jury's still out on climate forecasts, 'global warming'
I can't help but chuckle every time I hear our great president or some other liberal Democrat warn us about the dangers of so called "man-made global warming."
I was born in this great state and lived most of my life here so I have seen a few hurricanes. I wasn't living here in 2004/2005 when the anomalies of five storms actually made landfall. That was not predicted, nor could it have been.
I am not sure if that has ever happened in our recorded history.
Of course 2005 was the year of Katrina and the blow to New Orleans. If you do a little research, you will find that the experts came out of the woodwork, all predicting "more frequent and stronger storms" after Katrina due primarily to global warming. I am talking about very respected scientists at NOAA, Colorado State University and elsewhere, and publications like Nature, Scientific America, Climate Central and Science Nordic, all considered to be experts.
It seems their predictions were just a tad off as no hurricanes have made landfall in Florida since (Sandy just missed actual landfall). If you look at the annual hurricane predictions made by the two organizations mentioned above you will find they are batting about 25 percent accuracy. In fact I would wager I could roll dice and beat their forecasts on a regular basis.
Climate science is in its infancy. Global warming predictions are based on computer models only. No facts. Please use common sense when considering your opinion.
