It is interesting and sad to see how the Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives reward Rep. Kevin McCarthy for telling the truth. After many years of service, rising to be the House majority leader and a leading candidate to be Speaker of the House, he "graciously" removes himself from contention. His humble declination of this leadership position is evidently caused by GOP conservatives who exerted much pressure on him, rather than his own decision to not seek the speaker position for his own reasons. What a sad day for all of us.
