We the People of Bradenton are ignored in Glazier-Gates Park decision
What is the point of having a government built by and for We The People if those elected to perform in the best interests of We The People consistently take the path of their own enrichment?
Those elected officials hear the cries of We The People and choose to ignore the requests/demands of their constituents. Where do We The People turn when the checks and balances fail due to the choices of those elected? What do those officials expect when We The People become outraged with their behavior?
City of Bradenton officials continue to move forward to donate and develop land which has no overriding public interest. The overriding public outcry has been to stop the madness. Most of these public officials clearly have only their own interests and the interests of the developer in mind.
Bradenton is no longer the "Friendly City" when officials choose to benefit their own pocketbooks at the expense of the public. Government service is meant to be service to We The People. The career politicians at the City of Bradenton have obviously forgotten that a career in politics is not government service.
Please make your voice heard. Tell officials it is unconscionable to give away the historic, much loved Glazier-Gates Park, destroying the grandfather oaks and fragile ecosystem simply because they want campaign contributions and notoriety.
The chosen builder has proven to be an embarrassment due to shoddy workmanship and poor designs on their previous "waterfront luxury apartments" city project. Where does it stop? It will not stop until you join the voices of countless others to force a change.
