Save Bradenton's history, protest Glazier Gates Park plan

Bradenton, your history is about to be obliterated! The exact spot where Manatee County and the six surrounding counties started 174 years ago is about to be totally covered with rental apartments.

That's not all. This out-of-state developer is also about to fill our historic Glazier Gates Park with three-story walk-ups. Really? Yes! Outrageous? Yes! There is an almost total public opposition to this. So why is Bradenton City Council thinking of approving this?

Make up your own mind on that question. City Council will vote on this at 6 p.m. Oct. 14. It may be approved as some council members are for it and some are considering it. If you are against 521 apartments on our historic lands and park, send an email to the mayor and council at wayne.poston@cityofbradenton.com and/or come to the public meeting.
