Manatee needs more law enforcement officers to combat heroin crisis

Saturday's headline reads "Manatee tops state in heroin deaths per capita." But county commissioners denied Sheriff Brad Steube's request for eight new officers, in order to "keep taxes low." Please, I would love to see more police officers.
