Elimination of State College of Florida tenure will impair education

I am so sorry to hear that the Board of Trustees have decided to close State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota. That, of course, is what will happen when tenure is no longer awarded to the staff, which at this point, is excellent.

Good professors will leave and the school will no longer be able to attract the best of the best. This will lead to students choosing to go to other schools, where the best educators are employed.

What a sad day for our community!
