A minimum wage hike would cost Floridians jobs | Letter to the editor
We previously lived in Arizona, which voted in 2016 to increase the minimum wage. It went into effect Jan. 1, 2017, and on Jan. 6, 2017, I and a co-worker were laid off from a retail establishment with about 35 employees.
Everyone wants more money, but man don’t realize or think about the businesses having to make that up somewhere, be it in eliminating some employees or cuts somewhere else.
That’s why I voted against it then, and will here, now.
