Manatee Commissioner Misty Servia wrong on funding for Mote Marine | Letter to the editor

Commissioner Misty Servia, I see once again that you are on the WRONG side of an issue.

As a member of both the Tourism Development County and the Manatee County Commission it would have been more appropriate for you to abstain from voting on the TDC’s recommendation to rescind the grant to Mote, but it appears that the voters of your district can always depend on you to do the wrong thing.

Please take a step back and reconsider your position on this vital issue. Given the dramatic bed-tax shortfall in the current fiscal year it is unwise to squander money held in reserves on what will prove to be another Sarasota County boondoggle.

Rest assured that we, the voters of District 4, will be watching you.
