Stop with the hypocrisy about PPP. It helped save jobs during COVID-19 pandemic | Letter to the editor

We all know there were issues with the Paycheck Protection Program, but the main purpose of keeping employees on payroll was achieved.

That’s why I agree (for the first time) with liberal commentators like Chris Hayes who say we should not be demonizing businesses who were able to retain workers. That’s why the hypocrisy of certain political organizations and politicians is so appalling.

The Florida Democratic Party spent months attacking the PPP program knowing full well that they applied for and took the money itself. Locally, as reported in this morning’s Bradenton Herald, state representative Margaret Good is criticizing businesses in our area who took it all while her Matthews Eastmoore law firm benefited from the program.

Does the hypocrisy ever end?
