Stop being fooled, Florida. Vote Republicans out of office | Letter to the editor

Attention, Florida voters!

As you watch in horror, while our state’s mess of an unemployment bureau fails to help almost anyone, know that it was set up to fail by all the Republicans you keep voting in. I am sure that many of the people who can get no help at all now, voted Republican. Think about that in November. If you are not rich, the Republican Party has no real interest in you.

As you lose your homes and cars and can’t feed your families, your Republican leaders are trying to figure out more ways to protect the rich and take from you. They refused to expand Medicaid when they had the chance, so many poor families have no health insurance. Some of you who have no insurance, voted Republican. Why?

As the “leader” of the party likes to say, “What do you have to lose?” You can’t get unemployment when you need it. You can’t afford health insurance. Why not try putting a new party in charge of our state?

Elections are coming in November. If all of you that can’t get help now would vote for Democrats this fall, maybe you would have more promising futures.

It is up to the voters to change the path of our our state and our country. There are many more poor people than rich people in our state. All of you should vote for change.

If you allow the Republicans to continue to give you nothing, while protecting the rich, you will affirm to them that they can continue to fool you. Stop being fooled, change our leadership.
