Wealthy retirees should donate stimulus checks to charity | Letter to the editor

This is an area full of retirees, many financially secure. The federal stimulus money will have little or no effect on our lives but others in the community are struggling.

Consider donating your check to local charities providing emergency food or shelter. Use the dollars to buy gift certificates from local restaurants or prepay other services. If you know a family, consider a gift.

We did not make it this far in life without the help of others. It’s our turn to give back.
