More gun control laws would make us less safe | Letter to the editor

Every school shooting or mass shooting in a movie house cannot be controlled by more gun laws.

The gun show loophole I know of is where private gun owners walk around selling a gun in the parking lot. I agree that needs to be controlled with some form of paperwork to know who bought the gun.

I could care less about these students marching around yelling more gun control, background checks, ban the AR 15. Go purchase a gun at a gun show from a dealer and see what it takes to buy a gun. You are going to provide the seller with a photo identification card, then fill out a form with all your personal information and questions about your background and then sit and wait for up to an hour or more to get approval.

Not one gun law will prevent a criminal or sick minded person from getting a gun on the street corner. Black market gun sales are everywhere! Gun laws hurt the law abiding citizens and put them in danger, but the criminals or bad guys with guns laugh at any and all gun control laws. Red flag laws are putting law-abiding citizens in danger of fraudulently being targeted and their guns taken away.

People like Senate President Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton are a danger to law-abiding citizens and should be removed from office. Because the Supreme Court ruled that the AR-15 is a commonly used rifle, it is legal to own and will never be banned. Gun control advocates know our guns will never be taken away because we have the 1st amendment and the 2nd amendment along with God’s given right to self protection against the bad guys.
