It was the best of times for some and the worst of times for others. The homeless and hungry are just as homeless and hungry on the fourth Thursday of June as they are on the fourth Thursday of November.

Good works are a good thing, don’t get me wrong. True empathy for others is a wonderful thing each and every day of the year.

What’s my point? The warmth and joy this holiday season brings to so many should not be forgotten so quickly. Our fourth Thursday of November can become every day for our hungry and homeless, as we share our best of times with the worst of times of others.
