Atrocities renew call that cows’ milk is unfit for human consumption
The shocking expose of atrocities perpetrated on Larson’s dairy farm in Okeechobee confirms that our only way to stop subsidizing dairy atrocities is to switch to nut- and soy-based milks and milk products.
Dairy cows spend their lives chained in their stalls, and have their milk sucked out of them by milking machines twice a day. Every year, they are artificially impregnated to keep the milk flowing. Newborn calves are torn from their grieving mothers at birth. The females are used to produce more milk, while the males are killed for veal. Dairy cows are slaughtered for ground beef after only four or five years.
Consumption of dairy products laden with saturated fats, cholesterol, hormones and drugs elevates the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and some forms of cancer. This is particularly critical during childhood years, when dietary flaws become lifelong addictions.
Green leafy vegetables and legumes supply all the calcium and proteins touted for cow’s milk, and without excess calories and other yucky ingredients. Every supermarket offers a rich selection of dairy-free milks, cheeses and ice creams made from healthful nuts and grains.
