The proposed tax reform bill has met the usual Democratic opposition. They prefer to play class envy rather than vote to boost the economy, which benefits rich and poor equally. They don’t understand how foolish they sound by proposing tax relief to those who pay no taxes. If they were aware of history and the ingenuity of informed people, they would be familiar with the words of Plato, who said, “When there is an income tax, the just man will pay more and the unjust less on the same amount of income.”
