Pay Manatee teachers better, but quit hitting the taxpayers

It seems as though our governments, whether they are local, county, state or federal, can never get enough monies. They cannot continue to offer retirement after a minimum of 20 years of service in some cases. The taxpayer must come with enough monies to pay retirement and benefits for as many as three individuals with only one working.

Our Manatee County teachers’ income compared to Sarasota teachers’ income is much lower. How can that be? We must pay our educators better to maintain a higher level of educational talent, but this isn’t happening. They need to do a better job of allocating funds overall and stop demanding more from taxpayers.
