Kindness after Irma was overwhelming in Bradenton

I realize this is coming in late, but I would like to thank FEMA and the Department of Children and Families for everything that they did to help my boyfriend and me out after Irma.

We were without electricity for eight days, we spent over $200 on gas for the generator, our yard was flooded for days and we lost all of our food. They came to our rescue in more ways then one, and I can’t ever thank them enough.

I would also like to thank my neighbors for all that they did to help us, the kindness, the concern was overwhelming. Last but not least, my employers and a few of the people I work with stepped up to help us. You learn how caring people can be when you’re down on your luck and I feel like the luckiest person ever. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
