Small businesses win big with House tax reform

Small businesses are big winners in the House tax reform bill.

It is small business, not major corporations, that creates most of the jobs in this country.

So I was happy to see that the bill would help level the playing field and lower taxes on small business.

By lowering their top tax rate from 39.6 percent – one of the highest in the world – to 25 percent, the Tax Cut and Jobs Act would help local moms and pops compete with international companies.

By saving ordinary small businesses money, this bill would help them create more good-paying jobs and invest in the community.

I am hopeful that the Democrats in Congress will join with the Republicans to provide Main Street with some much-needed tax relief.
