Letters to the Editor

Trump is violating spirit of the law

You, Republicans, have got to be kidding.

While our president may not be violating the letter of the law, he is most certainly violating the spirit of the law. The letters of the law have been crafted by lawyers so that either side can and will be argued and the results will have nothing to do with the truth or the intention, but with the reality that money trumps the law.

It is a felony to defraud the public, which is exactly what Trump did with his “Trump University “ scam. But If you have a lot of money, you can settle out of court. And, viola, no jail time, no felon label attached to your name. Where is the justice in that?

You can’t hire your children, especially if they have no idea what they are doing in the role that they have been hired. What part of nepotism do you all not understand?

How about the lease he has on that hotel in D.C.? And being able to manipulate for his personal gains?

And now we are considering tax reform without even seeing his own returns. Gee, that makes a lot of sense. Great due diligence.

What does Trump have in common with OReilly, Weinstein and Cosby ? That is so obvious it hurts, especially to all the women abused.

And how about appointing someone to head the EPA who is committed to destroying the environment?

Every day comes a new lie. Go ahead: Fact check what he tweets.

Need I go on?

Those of you who remain silent will own your silence. History will not be kind to you.
