Restaurant worker thanks anonymous ‘helper’ for gift of groceries

I'd like to express my gratitude and thanks to the kind soul who paid for my groceries Oct. 19 at the Winn-Dixie.

I realized at the counter that I didn't have the cash to pay for them, and joked with the cashier that I needed to go make some money first. So I went to work my evening shift at Bonefish Grill. But before I was able to go back, Elijah, the cashier from Winn-Dixie, came to drop off the bag of items, and told me that a woman had paid for them!

I can't imagine how this came about, but I am stunned at such kindness. Whoever you are — thank you so much! What a wonderful community we live in.
