I have great respect for General John Kelly. He is a true patriot who has undertaken the job of attempting to stabilize the White House. That respect does not extend to Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ opinion that he is beyond questioning.

When he attempted to justify President Trump’s clumsy conversation with the widow of a slain soldier by comparing it with the conversation between himself and another general and close friend, he displayed a lack of understanding between the military and civilian psyche. Generals have an understanding of war and its risks. That is what they train for and do. Wives of enlisted men have none of that understanding.

I also find it disingenuous that he was stunned that someone on the other end of Trump’s call was listening, while General Kelly was himself listening to the call he described as too personal.
