Name-calling from the White House must stop

Many years ago the words imbecile, moron and idiot were used to assess those who had intelligence deficits. Those labels hung around for years, and many children were misdiagnosed and carried the label forever. We moved on to a different label, which was mental retardation. The term was somewhat more acceptable, but the stigma was still there. Our current term is Special Needs, which is a step up.

The fact that these words were spoken by high-ranking members of our government, from the president on down, is insulting and nauseating.

The bickering and name-calling need to stop. Adults were elected to Congress to represent us in Washington. A class of first-grade students has more decorum than Congress — even at recess.

The promises we were given are now 10 months old. What accomplishments do we have for that period of time? Zilch!

Label jars, not people.
