Without American flag flying, we could have become British America

Why are so many people supporting kneeling instead of standing during the Pledge of Allegiance or the Star-Spangled Banner? I have a feeling that these people have no idea what our flag represents. Brave men and women fought and died to keep that flag waving. Francis Scott Key, the author of the Star-Spangled Banner, had negotiated an exchange of prisoners of war: British soldiers for American soldiers. All we had to do was lower our flag. But they didn’t. So, the British tried to bomb Fort Henry off the face of the earth. In the morning, the flag was still flying. Do the people protesting against standing during this pledge or song actually listen to the words Mr. Key wrote?

If our soldiers had not kept that flag flying, theoretically, we could now be known as part of the United Kingdom or British America. I believe in civil rights. I support peaceful protest. If you want to protest racial inequality, pick an appropriate platform and do it. Not standing for the flag is disrespectful and doesn’t really make sense. It’s like protesting apples by eating oranges instead.

As for the parents supporting their child’s “right” to kneel? Soon children won’t do anything they are asked to do and their parents will be the cause. Our society will soon be flooded with people who feel they can do whatever they want because it is their “right”.
