Our country is besieged with ‘divide and conquer’

Historic documents of the USA

Is anyone familiar with the term “divide and conquer?” Get people to fight among themselves, create hatred and divert our focus toward things other than issues that really matter the most, with regard to the overall benefit of the country.

The left-wing liberals have been using this strategy in an attempt to destroy the Trump presidency since the day he got elected.

They are operating under the knowledge that it is easier to create a problem than it is to correct a problem. All without concern for anyone other than themselves and the way they want things to be.

All the riots, protests and civil disturbances that are going on now are a result of this self-serving approach to politics in America.

If the Supreme Court has ruled that burning or otherwise destroying the American Flag is simply “freedom of speech,” then why is flying the Confederate flag not to be given the same legal consideration regardless of the outcome?

If that flag and/or any monuments, statues, memorials, etc. are to be destroyed, taken down, moved or whatever, then it should be done legally following proper debate and procedures.

Not as a result of mob rule and the threat of civil unrest. Otherwise we may as well blow up the Statue of Liberty, burn down the football hall of fame, close all of the country’s presidential libraries, and eliminate anything else that someone might find offensive.

In other words, just sit back and let anarchy become the deciding factor in America.

We are in the process of disregarding all of the freedoms and benefits provided by the Constitution that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy.

The American Flag and our National Anthem do not represent bigotry, racism or any other form of discrimination. They should both be respected for what they do stand for: liberty and freedom for all.

We are supposed to learn from history. And as hard as some unknowledgeable or misguided individuals or groups might try, you cannot change history.
