Defenders of Wildlife welcome support from Buchanan

I joined three other local members of Defenders of Wildlife to meet recently with Sally Dionne, district director locally for U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key. We were there to reinforce Congressman Buchanan’s support for the Endangered Species Act and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Buchanan has been supportive of wildlife conservation efforts and I have many emails from him where he had noted that support and his support of the ESA particularly. We had a good session with Ms. Dionne and were encouraged by the meeting. Our representatives in local, state and federal government need to hear from citizens about the issues that most concern us, and we appreciated Ms. Dionne taking the time to talk with us. I encourage everyone to speak up and to hold your leaders accountable.
