This letter is in response to Pat Neal’s “Guest Columnist” article from the Aug. 10 edition of the Bradenton Herald. Mr. Neal sounds like he thinks the people in West Bradenton want to lose their last natural habitat and change the look of Northwest Bradenton. I bet if he took a poll of the people in this area, they would vote against his proposal.

We like having some green areas without homes and condos and apartments and cement and blacktop. Mr. Neal writes “Aqua by the Bay would serve as another anchor of jobs and economic activity for an area overdue for investment.” I doubt anyone living in this area feels that we are “overdue for investment!”

We certainly wouldn’t want high-rises of any variety. We love what we have here in our community, and we certainly don’t need any more traffic. I am under the impression that the law calls for a height limit of 35 feet for any building, so anything taller than that should never be approved.
