Palmetto fire inspectors go out of their way to help

It's not often that you find a government employee who is willing to go out of their way to help citizens, which is why I want to commend one of our local fire department inspectors.

Palmetto Fire Inspector Calliope Newland spent over two hours helping get information and giving practical help with a violation to the fire code. In spite of the fact that the initial interaction was confrontational, she was able to set aside her personal feelings and get the job done. She maintained a professional competent attitude and was more than happy to assist.

During this process, we were able to meet Palmetto Fire Marshall Andrell Miller, who personally got involved and was also very helpful in resolving this issue.
