Benac should resign from Manatee County commission
Commissioner Betsy Benac should resign from the Board of County Commissioners.
Given the circumstances of her son apparently being involved with the abuse of a shark in recent weeks leaves no alternative but for her to resign.
The Board of County Commissioners will forever be tainted if she continues to stay on the board and refuses to resign. The rest of the board should take a vote of no confidence and have her removed.
The citizens of Manatee County deserve better and we will never look at Benac in the same light. It will follow her forever. It's unfortunate that she is collateral damage because of her son's actions, but in the best interest of our community she needs to go.
Just look at political history. Bill Clinton, for all the good he has done, we just remember Monica.
Betsy Benac will be remembered the same way with her son Bo.
It is what it is.
