Community, religious leaders need to speak out now
As a mother, grandmother and citizen of the greatest country in the world, I want to know why NONE of our community and religious leaders have spoken against the gutter language used last week by members in the country’s highest office. (See New Yorker magazine interview.)
And shame on the religious groups who have openly and strongly supported the current administration that has hired guys who seem to have been recruited from Mafia world. Where are your moral standards and convictions? We need to hear from you. If not now, when could there be a more appropriate time?
“They act like organized crime,” said on-target pundit/comedian Stephen Colbert, “except they are not organized.”
Intended as a joke, it is the sad truth. And, a sad time for our beloved country.
Will we recover? I worry.
