They came to the rescue when she severely wounded her hand. Then they finished mowing her yard.
I would like to give a “shout out” to Bradenton Fire Department Engine 421. Medic 12 and Engine 421 (C shift) responded to Traumatic Injuries, where a mother of four was home alone trying to mow her lawn while her kids were inside. She unfortunately severely wounded her right hand when she had reached down to unclog the grass from her mower.
After assisting Medic 12 with patient care, Bradenton firefighters George Norris and David Ianero stayed on the scene and finished mowing the woman’s lawn for her. It is small acts of kindness like this that deserve to be recognized.
The integrity and compassion demonstrated by the two firefighters on Engine 421 did not go unnoticed. The patient started crying when I told her they were staying to finish mowing her grass. I would like to send thanks and appreciation to these fine gentlemen.
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
