Trump needs to go — now

Rather than be impeached, Richard Nixon resigned in disgrace because of one incident, the Watergate break-in cover-up. Not because he didn’t end the Vietnam War when he promised. Not because the Nixon reelection committee (appropriately known as CREEP) used “dirty tricks” to foil his opponent. Not because his arrogant advisers Ehrlichman, Haldeman, his A.G. Mitchell and his V.P. Agnew were constantly at war with the media. No, it was only because of Nixon’s collusion in covering up a crime he may not have even known about, beforehand.

However, compared to Trump’s willing and wanton disregard for the security of the United States, his flippant unconcern for trusted U.S. allies, his dangerous and freaky attachment to all things Russian (Putin in particular) and his blatant disrespect of the office of president, Nixon’s transgression pales in comparison. Trump fired the FBI director solely because of Comey’s investigation into Russian involvement in the November election; Trump openly admitted that! And he’s considering replacing Comey with one of his biased Republican cronies. Now he’s turned over top-secret security information to Russian officials, in person and at a meeting from which he barred the American press, but not Russian photographers. This is stupid and scandalous at the least, and dangerous or treasonous at the worst.

No matter how much his supporters hated Obama or feared Clinton, neither of them ever did anything that comes close to Trump’s horrible conduct and his gross mismanagement of the office of president. No chief executive in our history was as inept or dangerous as Trump. Not one. Ever. Trump has to go, and not by being voted out of office. The United States and the rest of the free world can’t wait until 1-20-21. He must resign or be impeached now, before he causes irreparable harm to this great country.

Make America great again; impeach Trump as soon as possible!
