On May 18, most of Bradenton and surrounding areas witnessed the plume of black smoke from a horrific fire engulfing our outside tire storage area at Callaghan Tire. I am happy to report that there were no fatalities and no injuries, and that our truck tire retread factory was saved by the outstanding work of our Southern Manatee County Fire and Rescue Department.

I cannot say enough about these firefighters and how efficient, respondent and professional these trained people were. They are truly a great team.

The losses could have been much more than just tires, as they can be replaced. We are back in business as usual, and I want to also thank all the community for their prayers, concerns and kind remarks. We are taking care of our customers and employees, and will continue to serve our great community and its residents.

Dan Callaghan
