Regarding the planned work on Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton: What a wonderful opportunity to create a pedestrian precinct, as has been done successfully in many cities around the world.

Old Main Street would be pedestrian-only most of the time. At certain designated hours, delivery vehicles would be allowed to use it. But there would be no on-street parking.

Come on, Bradenton. Catch up with the rest of the civilized world and have the guts to actually close a street to general traffic.

You say you want to “improve walkability?” This is how to do it.
